The backpack program serves 250 elementary students each week with a package of food to sustain the students that might not have food over the weekends. These are for students that depend on the free breakfast and lunch programs at the schools during the week during the school year.
The Cost of each bag is around $9.00 per student. That is $2,250 a week, $9,000 a month. $90,000 to $100,000 a year depending on cost increases. A school year is 10 months long.
